Force Quit on Ubuntu
November 26, 2008 |
Compare to Microsoft Windows, Ubuntu is much more reliable operating system, but nothing is perfect, even Ubuntu Application may hang or freeze at times (especially if you have a lot ‘cutting edge’ applications). When you patiently wait for a while and it still hangs, the only option left is to Force Quit.
Below are the steps to force quite an application:
1. Right-click the top panel from your desktop, select Add to Panel
2. Select Force Quit from the list in the dialog and click Add at the bottom.
3. The icon should end up at the center of the top panel.
Click on the icon and your mouse will became a + icon, target the window you wanna close and click on it, it will be forced to quit. To cancel it, press Esc.
Hope this helps! :)
