Nice one! Installation works fine on Ubuntu 9.10, however there is no sound. There’s also no on Ubuntu 9.10, so I added the line to my launcher (after making the oss file writable). The sound works on the menu but now the game crashes. A quick search of the Internet reveals the majority of folks on Ubuntu having the exact same problem.

  2. I’ve just post a message to the ubuntu forum. The original version works well but is a little bit older. I disagree to hack oss process to get quake 3 sound working. I digged and found a solution with sdl-oss. Works great. I’m using ubuntu 10.04.
Cheers ! And hope it will help you.
