Ubuntu Install Chinese Input

If you are using Ubuntu 7.10 or above, to install Chinese Input is very easy, first, go to Systems -> Administration -> Language Support

Under Supported Languages, check the checkbox next to ‘Chinese’. Click ‘Apply’ and Ubuntu will auto download and install Chinese.

Once it’s installed, go to Systems -> Administration -> Language Support again, this time, under Input Method, check ‘Enable support to enter complex characters’.
You may need to restart your computer for it to work. Hope it helps!
